Vehicle for meal kit distribution

Our current project stems from a recent project that we have completed. Where Iowans for Ukrainians were able to fund 200 meal kits. After we found out that there are 6000 displaced families, we felt helpless as we knew for sure that we are not able to afford to help all 6000 families.

A decision was made to fund 200 meal kits and hope that with our continuous efforts we can provide more…

Imagine our disbelief and excitement when we heard that World Central Kitchen heard about our venture and offered to support the displaced community by providing ONE THOUSAND meal kits each month as long as it is needed! This truly shows the power of one decision, one helping hand, and one desire to feed people.

Our event showed that many families with multiple children, people with disabilities, elderly were not able to stand in line long to get their kits, so the volunteers had to drive to their homes and deliver the kits.

With a thousand meal kits Ukrainian Soul organization (our counterpart in Ukraine) needs a vehicle that would hold these kits and help deliver them safely to their destination.

We were informed that with the last 400 kits from WCK Ukrainian Soul had to borrow a vehicle from the municipality, which was given to them on a one-time basis.

Iowans for Ukrainians will be funding $2500 for the purchase of this vehicle, the remainder of the sum $5000 we are seeking from those who seek to feed displaced people in Ukraine.
